Animals make wonderful teachers once we know how to tap into their energies. How the giraffe thinks, approaches life, and the physical adaptations of its’ soul provides us humans a key to using our bodies and our skills wisely.
Giraffes hold the largest throat chakra on the planet and it's no coincidence that they are excellent communicators. A giraffe's neck is approximately 1.8m (6 feet) long. This mammal's neck is comprised of 7 vertebrates, exactly the same as a human.
Zebras, Rhinos & many other animals of the African savanna grasslands prefer to hang close to giraffes, with great respect, because when danger approaches a giraffe is the first to know. If a herd of giraffes run in fear, instinctively all other animal herds will begin to run as well. Their view from the top helps!
They possess a unique vocalization called infrasonic, below human audible range, that helps them communicate with their herd. This vocalization is around the same decibel range as earthquakes, meteorites and elephant's vocalization. What lessons from a giraffe's qualities and abilities can we can use in our own lives?
Speak your truth, it’s the key to individuality.
The lessons of a giraffe offer a fresh energetic perspective for the intentions listed below:
Heart Chakra:
Giraffes hold one of the strongest heart chakras of all animals. It takes a special heart to pump blood all the way to the brain of this animal, a heart that measures over 60cm (nearly 2 feet long) and weighs over 11kg (around 25 lbs)! A heart this big pumps over 70L (nearly 16 gallons) of blood every single minute.
What can we learn from this? Activate your heart chakra and maintain good health. Believe and nurture self love. We must first nurture ourselves before we can truly help anyone else.
Protection and Third Eye Chakra:
Giraffes engage with other animals in a unique way. Because of their highly effective heart and communication skills, they attract a unique tribe of other species around them including some of their predators such as lions and crocodiles. Lions & giraffes mingle together without a problem until hunger strikes the lion. Giraffes instinctively know when a lion's hunger begins to settle in. They will then start to distance the herd. Camouflaged naturally, the giraffes move in tighter groups during the lion's hunger period. If a lioness creeps a little too close for comfort, a swift karate chop to the head from a giraffes front leg will quickly kill her.
What lessons can we take away from a giraffe's highly attuned communicative skills? Strengthen intuition and brow chakra. Rely on your tribe when danger approaches. Be fearless and be confident in your circle of protection.
Build your Tribe. Open your Heart. Trust your Intuition. Speak your Mind.
Those that need to hear you… Will.
